"Night sweetheart." said an Officer mockingly. He jiggled the keys to the cell. The Thug's grip tightened on the bars separating him from that bastard's throat.
Another Officer entered the station and neared the desk across from the lone holding cell. "Goodnight Frank." said the first officer ending his shift.
"Yeah, Yeah." said Frank chuckling but a little annoyed with the time of his shift. The first officer left the building walked to his car.
Batman had been on top of the building observing every moment. It was time to make his move.
The lights flashed off and on in the station. Frank raised an eyebrow and looked up at the light above him. The lights all turned off.
"Damnit!" said frank slapping his magazine on the desk. He grabbed a flashlight and moved on to find the source of the power outage.
The thug stared into the darkness. He heard a sound. The man sat up from his bed and moved toward the cell bars. He listened closely for anything else. It was pitch black....nothing. He was slammed against the bars. Something had him by his collar.
A bright green light shined. The Batman's masked face glowed eerily in front on the criminal. "Questions and Answers." Batman simply stated.
"HEEELLLP!" Yelled the man behind the bars. "This section is empty..." Batman said tightening his grip on the man's collar.
"Ask man just ask!" said the thug excitedly.
"What exactly where you doing this afternoon?" asked Batman. "My job." the thug replied. Batman banged the convicts head against the bars. "This guy said he needed a little help with something!" said the thug. "What man? Name? Any distinct markings?" The Batman asked. "No name, but he sure as hell could stand in a crowd. He looked like he was from the circus." the convict answered. "What did he say what exactly did he want." Batman asked. "He promised cash, he gave me some crazy weapons. Solid stuff. Really bad ass. He said all he wanted in return was a good time." answered the thug. "So your idea of a good time is hurting innocent people??!" The Batman asked enraged. "He probably enjoyed it, too." said the thug smirking.
The smirk was wiped clean off his face when his whole body began to lift from the ground. He stared into the demon like eyes of The Batman, and gasped for breath.
The thugs body fell to the floor and he screamed "What the hell are you man!?" The light returned back on. Their was nothing in front of the thug except the glowing stick. He laid back on the floor.
-------------------On the Roof-------------------
Bruce knew he could have found out more, but in the back of his mind he was in denial. "From the circus.." Batman kept reviewing that through his mind and didn't want to think about it.
-------------------Evidence Lab-------------------
Batman stood outside the door to the evidence lab he looked around as he picked the lock to the room. He slowly entered and closed the door behind him. He walked over to the center table and pulled the sheet off of it.
On the table there was a small amount of items. The one that caught The Dark Knights interest the most was the weapon. He picked it up and looked it over. It was mostly melted. He knew who had done this...
He flipped it over and his eyes grew wide. He stared the half melted face of a clown. Batman turned on his communicator.
"Alfred, I need you too set up the computer and scanner in the lab." he said into his wrist.
"Trouble sir?" Alfred asked confused.
"Plenty of trouble." Batman said before shutting it off.
